COVID19 Transit Safety Guidelines

If you are using public transit services, please follow the CDC's guidelines by maintaining six-feet between yourself and other passengers and drivers, to the extent possible, and wear face coverings to prevent the spread of the virus.

VTA

Light Rail - VTA light rail service has now begun full service and is fully operational once again..

No Mask, No Ride - Following the federal government's transportation mask mandate, masks are required for all passengers regardless of vaccination status

Social Distance Implementation - VTA is no longer mandating social distancing, front door boarding has resumed

Service Adjustments - VTA is continually increasing service on the busiest routes

BART

No Mask, No Ride - Following the federal government's transportation mask mandate, masks are required for all passengers regardless of vaccination status

Social Distance Implementation - Please maintain 6 feet of distance from others whenever possible

Service Reduction - Service has been reduced to every 30 minutes, and services ends at 9PM.

Service Increase - Service is scheduled to increase on August 2nd, with 15 minute frequencies and ending at 12AM. See the BART schedule announcement for details.

Santa Cruz METRO

Social Distance Implementation - Please maintain 6 feet of distance from others whenever possible

Stop Removal - The Highway 17 Express is currently only stopping at Diridon Station. It does not stop at SJSU. Students can transfer from Diridon Station to SJSU using VTA buses 500, 64A, 64B, 66, 68, and 568.

Service Adjustments - Due to reduced ridership and operator shortages, Santa Cruz METRO is operating a limited schedule for the Highway 17 Express bus. Check the Santa Cruz METRO Schedule for the latest Highway 17 Express schedule.

 

Caltrain

Social Distance Implementation - Please maintain 6 feet of distance from others whenever possible

Service - Weekday service is every 30 minutes. Baby Bullet service has resumed.

Transfers -  Caltrain stops at Diridon Station. Students can transfer from Diridon Station to SJSU using VTA buses 500, 64A, 64B, 66, 68, and 568.

Altamont Corridor Express (ACE)

Social Distance Implementation - Please maintain 6 feet of distance from others whenever possible

Service - Trains 7 and 10 have been suspended. There are currently 3 trains each direction per day. Check the current ACE schedule for timetables.

Transfers - Caltrain stops at Diridon Station. Students can transfer from Diridon Station to SJSU using VTA buses 500, 64A, 64B, 66, 68, and 568.
