A woman in a light blue kimono and dark blue obi holds a shallow, white bowl of thin tea and prepared to drink. She is seated on tatami mats. To the viewer's left a black water jar with a gold design is seen. A black lacquer tea container and a bamboo whisk sit in front of the cylindrical water container. To the left of the water container, the corner of a ceramic braizer and iron kettle can be seen. There is a short bamboo screen behind the area where the tea has been made.
