Week 5 (9/27/05 and 9/29/05)
- Scheduling - There is a MUSE Workshop I'd like us all to
attend. This occurs on 10/6 from noon to 1, so I'm going to suggest we move
the midterm back one week to 10/13. Study session this Saturday (10/1
@ 10:30) stays remains the same. The MUSE workshop is called "Moving from High School Grad to Educated Citizen - How Does That Happen?"

Our class will meet immediately after the event to discuss its repercussions.
- Reading schedule - On Th 9/15, I assigned 20 pages of reading per
day, 6 days a week. A calendar chart showing your progress is linked here.
- 19th century epidemics
- "Until the 1880's and even later there was firmly implanted in
both the lay and the medical mind the idea that disease was caused by
dirt" (Rosen, 1993, p. 222)
- We should know the cause and transmission of these agent, so I've
begun to build a table that describes these problems: click here.
