Day 4, August 10, 2002 - Saturday
Early this morning, we caught the #22 bus (in Hawaii the bus line is called "The Bus") to Hanauma Bay for some snorkeling. It really was a great spot and well worth the three bucks to get in. Of course renting snorkel gear is a bit more but still worth it. We got gear for the three of us and a locker for $23 total. Snorkeling was really great. We saw several varieties of fish along with lots of coral and sea anemones. It was beautiful and serene, except for the occasional pair of legs in our view. We had a great morning enjoying some of God's creations.
We got back to the hotel with plenty of time left in the day to rest, do some laundry, shopping and enjoy a nice dinner at a fine restaurant. House Without a Key is one that Andy had read about that has one of the best Mai Tais around. He said it was the best he'd had, but I enjoyed the restaurant more for the lovely ocean view, the Hawaiian music and the hula dancer. She was so beautiful and danced so gracefully. She reminded me that I was really in an island paradise. After dinner, we walked on the beach, saw the sunset and had Stone Cold Creamery ice cream. It was another great day. Andy has now gotten four Aloha shirts and the Tiki statue he wanted. Vienna got her first Aloha shirt and another sarong. She loves Aloha-wear. I got a few gifts for friends, my favorite part of shopping.
