The Behavioral Intervention Team is for reporting SJSU community members that pose a risk to themselves, others, and/or the campus community. Individuals witnessing concerning or threatening behavior should report to the Behavior Intervention Team.

SJSU's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers individual, couples, group, and educational counseling services. For assistance after hours, call (408) 924-5678 and press 4 to reach the after-hours crisis service.

 

Title IX Office

Students, or other SJSU-affiliated members who have been victims of sexual misconduct and/or violence have the ability to report an incident to the Title IX Office. The Title IX Office serves as the main enforcing campus body of Title IX from the Education Amendments of 1972.

 

University Ombudsman

The University Ombudsman provides impartial and confidential consultation to members of the campus community who are concerned about a situation or issue. The Ombudsperson helps interpret SJSU policies and procedures, clarifies issues and generates options for resolution, and recommends actions and makes referrals.

The University Police Department serves all of San José State University 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. UPD provides emergency response services and range of educational programs that ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff as well as visitors on campus.

The Wellness and Health Promotion (WHP) team is a diverse staff with various specialties to meet the health and wellness needs of SJSU students. The WHP team helps students develop healthy lifestyles through a wide range of fun and engaging activities.
