Conditional admission is available to students who want to earn a bachelor or master
degree at San Jose State University. There are different eligibility requirements
for undergraduate and graduate applicants.

You may apply as an undergraduate (first-time freshman) only if:
- you need an F-1 visa to study in the USA
- you have graduated or will graduate from a secondary school or high school
- your grades are equal to an American GPA of 3.0 or higher out of 4.0
- you have passed three years of college preparatory mathematics

You may apply as an undergraduate (transfer student) only if:
- you need a F-1 visa to study in the USA
- you have graduated from a secondary school or high school
- your secondary or high school grades are equal to an American GPA of 3.0 or higher
out of 4.0
- you have passed three years of college preparatory mathematics
- you have completed less than 60 transferable units of coursework at an accredited
college or university
- your college or university grades are equal to an American GPA of 2.5 or higher out
of 4.0

- you need an F-1 visa to study in the USA
- you have graduated or will graduate from an accredited 4-year college or university
- your college or university grades are equal to an American GPA of 2.5 or higher out
of 4.0
