MySJSU Upgrade Details

MySJSU (Campus Solutions) and SJSU@Work will be undergoing a mandatory upgrade required by the Chancellor’s Office in order to stay current with the latest PeopleSoft security and functional updates from Oracle. As a part of this upgrade, MySJSU’s navigation system will change and some navigation elements, such as the menu, will be in new locations on the page.

During the weekend of the upgrade, the SJSU IT team will work closely with the Chancellor’s Office and campus administrative staff to validate and address implementation issues.

When are the changes happening?

Friday, September 23, 2023 6:00 pm - Monday, September 26, 12:00 pm.

MySJSU (Campus Solutions) and SJSU@Work will be unavailable during the scheduled upgrade. SJSU System Status will be updated to inform the campus of the progress of the upgrade. The Spartan App Portal at will also have an announcement.

What is changing?

PeopleSoft Fluid Navigation

Oracle’s support for PeopleSoft classic navigation is ending and an updated layout and navigation called “Fluid Navigation” is required in PeopleTools 8.59. Fluid Navigation provides a responsive, mobile-friendly framework for customizing the user interface for specific audiences. For example, homepages and tiles with the pages used by just faculty, or just class maintainers, or just admissions advisors.

This is a change to the homepage, menu, and navigation only. Pages won’t look any different, and this does not affect the Self-Service pages, such as the Student Center and Faculty Center. 

Fluid Navigation is not being turned on for SJSU@Work until the migration to a consolidated CHRS system is complete (which is expected towards the end of 2023).

As a part of the upgrade, MySJSU (Campus Solutions) will change to the new Fluid layout, introducing a different method for navigating PeopleSoft.  Within MySJSU (Campus Solutions), the navigation menu will be moved.  Look for a compass icon in the top right corner of your screen. This updated navigation menu will still include all of the same items as the old menu.

PeopleTools 8.59 Upgrade

The PeopleTools upgrade does not directly impact the day-to-day functionality of the system or core operations. It is an upgrade to the core technology that all PeopleSoft applications are built on and this upgrade is needed for maintaining the core technology to a supported version.  We will be updating our PeopleTools from version 8.57 to version 8.59.
