Academic Senate Chair Annette Nellen reports that the senate has an agenda this spring that promises to have a significant positive impact on our campus. Says Nellen, the senate will discuss resolutions on improving the RTP process; enhancements to the GE program; making the Resource Planning Board permanent; changing the name and charge of the Affirmative Action Committee to better focus on improving diversity among our faculty; and discussing campus goals and a values statement to be proposed by the new Goals Advisory Council. On Feb. 11, from 10 a.m. to noon, the senate will co-sponsor with the California Faculty Association the first annual Academic Freedom Forum, in Engineering 189.
