Danelle Moon, a new faculty member and director of SJSU's Special Collections and Archives, who formerly was at Yale University, reports that the King Library "offers faculty and students the opportunity to view and study unique and rare books and original manuscripts. Our collection strengths include art, history, political science and literature," she says. Moon is responsible for collecting, preserving and making accessible the collection holdings, which include rare books, manuscript collections, university history, records and faculty publications. Moon, who wants to document community history and make connections with faculty and the broader San Jose community, is holding an open house event for special collections on Thursday, Feb. 17, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on the 5th floor of the King Library.
