Patti Solomon-Rice, clinic coordinator for communicative disorders and sciences, reports that the Kay Armstead Center for Communications Disorders at SJSU serves about 50 clients a semester, including faculty, staff, SJSU students and members of the greater San Jos?? community, who have speech, language and hearing difficulties. Says Solomon-Rice, "The center provides a learning opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students who are training to become licensed and certified speech-language pathologists. These students will ultimately work in the public schools, hospitals, medical center, private practices and other agencies." Services are provided for a reasonable fee.
