Frances Hidalgo-Segura, director of SJSU's MESA Schools Program, reports that more than 500 students from school districts in San Jos??, including Alum Rock, East Side Union, Franklin McKinley and San Jos?? Unified, are expected to compete against each other in math and science projects at the 2005 MESA Day, on March 19, at SJSU. Says Hidalgo-Segura, "The activities are designed to help students apply their academic skills to real-world math and science projects.
