"Nickel and Dimed" is the Reading Program's featured book.
Date: 05/02/2005
"Reading is a key foundation for becoming an educated person," says Annette Nellen, chair of the Academic Senate. A Campus Reading Program has been established at SJSU by Undergraduate Studies, to help build a culture of reading on campus. Students, faculty and staff participating in the program will all read the same book this summer and in the fall, will engage in discussion sessions on the book. The first book selected, Nickel and Dimed, is a story about trying to make a living on low wages and what the author learns from the experience. This bestseller can be purchased at the Spartan Bookstore at a discounted price of $9.99. For more on the program, see http://www.sjsu.edu/ugs/reading.
