Campus events around the Campus Reading Program's 2005 selection of the bestseller, Nickel and Dimed, are off to a good start, reports Professor Annette Nellen. Several discussion groups have been held since the start of fall semester. In addition to students having been strongly urged to read the book in the summer, many students are finding that their professors are using the book in class. Along with general discussion groups, the first of three focused discussions with professors will be held this week on Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Engineering 189, which will highlight business ethics perspectives of the book. In addition, the University Theater will be presenting the play, beginning Friday, Oct. 7, through Saturday, Oct. 15. For more information, see www.sjsu.edu/ugs/reading.
