San Jos?? State is one of 36 universities that participated in the national study, Computer Incident Factor Analysis and Categorization Project, conducted by the University of Michigan and funded by the National Science Foundation. The report concludes that computer incidents involving accidental or intentional damages to resources, services or data could be reduced significantly on campuses with strictly-enforced policies and pro-active efforts to educate users, especially students and IT staff. CIFACP is the first-known national study that, using actual data, looked at preventing and managing computer incidents.
