The California State University received $285 million in new gifts and commitments from donors in 2004/05, according to a new report that will be presented to the Board of Trustees this week. This external support funding, which is used to enhance campus programs and assist students, is just above the $284 million received in 2003/04. "The external support detailed in this report provides a margin of excellence that allows us to enhance our programs, help more students, and fulfill our critical mission. Thanks to the ongoing commitment of the CSU's friends and supporters, the CSU is building a strong foundation for California," said CSU Chancellor Charles B. Reed.
