While much of California's economic success has been driven by a highly-educated workforce, a new study released last week by the California Business Roundtable and the Campaign for College Opportunity reports that California's competitive advantage may be at risk unless there is an increase in the number of college graduates. Called, "Keeping California's Edge: The Growing Demand for Highly Educated Workers," the study found that the demand for skilled workers with a college degree will grow by 48 percent in the coming two decades. One in three new jobs in California will require an associate degree, bachelor's degree or higher by 2022. The study is based on work by the Applied Research Center at California State University-Sacramento. For more, see http://www.collegecampaign.org/index.html.
