Mike Adams, chair of the Department of Television, Radio, Film and Theatre, taught a 10-day class recently on the history of broadcasting at the Shanghai Theatre Academy's School of Television Arts. "This was one of the greatest experiences of my academic life. I spent three hours daily with a group of 30 third-year students and learned a great deal about them, their hopes and career aspirations, their lives and their view of the international mass media and their future role in it," he said.

Jill Cody, a lecturer in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies, spent part of winter break in Nashville taking a course on "An Inconvenient Truth," the documentary on global warming by former Vice President Al Gore.
