High school robotics teams from as far away as Hawaii and Massachusetts are meeting at SJSU's Event Center for the 2007 San Jos?? Regional FIRST Robotics Competition. The event will begin Thursday, March 15, with robot testing and practice rounds. Competitive matches will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 16, and from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 17. Nearly fifty schools from Northern California, Alaska, Hawaii, Texas, Nevada, Washington, Massachusetts and Canada will compete for honors and recognition that reward design excellence, sportsmanship, teamwork and more. Participants include seven all-girls teams from San Jos?? (Notre Dame and Presentation high schools), Palo Alto, Los Angeles, Sacramento and Woodland Hills. This event is open to the public and free of charge. Parking in SJSU's South (Seventh Street) Garage will be affected. More on FIRST. View or download a campus map.
