Today, March 19, President Don W. Kassing is leading a delegation of 10 SJSU staff and alumni in Sacramento for the annual CSU Alumni Legislative Day. Alumni leaders, campus representatives, donors and friends from throughout the CSU will meet with legislative policy makers and their staff in the afternoon. This year the CSU is emphasizing three key messages for these visits: the 2007/08 budget (including restoration of the $7 million cut for outreach programs) and compensation; student services; and financial aid. During the morning session, the CSU will honor 23 alumni who have been selected by their campuses for the Advocate of the Year award. SJSU has named alumnus and Washington, D.C., public affairs strategist Leslie C. Francis for this prestigious honor. More.
