Susan Meyers, dean of the College of Education, will be one of 48 women honored at the YWCA of Silicon Valley's 23rd Annual Tribute to Women Awards on Thursday, May 10. The program honors women who exemplify excellence in executive-level positions and the companies who employ them. More.

Four faculty members will be honored Monday, May 7, at the Dean's Awards Reception for the College of Applied Sciences and Arts. School of Social Work Associate Professor Peter Allen Lee will be named outstanding professor. Janet Johnston, professor of justice studies, will be named outstanding scholar. Jayne Cohen, professor and director of the School of Nursing, will be recognized for outstanding service. Billie Jo Grosvenor, lecturer in the recreation and leisure studies department, will be named outstanding lecturer.

The sixth annual Provost's Awards for Service Learning was held Thursday, May 3. Vice Provost William Nance presented the awards. Recipients included student Kristin Wood, Professor Daryl Canham, Lecturer Michael Fallon, faculty team Melinda Jackson and Shishir Mathur, the Department of Sociology, community partner Sunday Friends and, for collaborative project, the Olinder School Education Project. AmeriCorps Bridging Borders, Cesar Chavez Community Action, CommUniverCity San Jos??, and Project SHINE were highlighted for service and leadership.
