President Kassing and Larry Carr, associate vice president of government and community relations, will be in Sacramento on Wednesday, May 23, for CSU Budget Advocacy Day. Kassing and Carr will join other CSU administrators who will meet with state legislators to discuss budget issues. The purpose of this annual visit is to familiarize the legislature with individual CSU campuses and to help ensure that the 2007-2008 budget will include the critical funding needed by the system to provide a quality and affordable education for the thousands of students currently being served. Among these visits, the SJSU delegation will meet with Senator Elaine Alquist, Assemblywoman Sally Lieber and Assemblyman Jim Beall. For more on CSU advocacy.
