Three Latino athletes will take part in a panel discussion on San Jos?? State University athletics during the Speed City era at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 9, at Barnes and Noble, 5353 Almaden Expressway, San Jos??. The speakers include Pete Mesa (baseball), Al Tafoya (boxing) and Chon Gallegos (football). History San Jos?? is sponsoring the discussion, which is part of an series of events related to its exhibit, "Speed City: From Civil Rights to Black Power." The exhibit is "an in-depth examination of American sport in an era that spans the aftermath of World War II through America's tumultuous involvement in Vietnam. The exhibition focuses on San Jos??
