Spartan linebacker Matt Castelo and former SJSU track and field coach Bert Bonanno will be honored at the 13th annual San Jos?? Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Wednesday, November 14, at HP Pavilion. Castelo, one of the nation's top tacklers, will be named Amateur Male Athlete of the Year. Bonanno will be inducted into the hall of fame, where his is described as "one of the greatest coaches and administrators of his era." Read more.

Also, basketball is on the menu as new head coach Pam DeCosta and the Spartan women host Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in their home opener at 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, in the SJSU Event Center. The Spartan men's hoop squad travels to the First Shot Exempt Tournament in Tennessee as Coach George Nessman's team opens the season.
