Wouldn't it be nice if someone would design a foolproof cereal box with a spout that poured your Cheerios in the bowl, not on the floor? Well, your dream just might come true. Among the top winners at the Fourth Annual Neat Ideas Fair, held Thursday November 29, at San José State, was "Box Spouts" by students Derrick Gallego, Phuc Nguyen, Habib Aziz, Ryan Ranola, Gustavo Salinas and Ryan Goodwin. The team took third place for best exhibit at the fair, which seeks to encourage entrepreneurialism across campus and attracted nearly 100 teams this year. First place went to a solar cogeneration system and second went to an online calendar service designed to help teams of all sorts coordinate their activities. The Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship within the College of Business hosts the fair, a finalist for an innovative pedagogy award at this year's U.S. Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship competition.
