Last week, in cooperation with the College of Education, International and Extended Studies launched a six-week training program in higher education management for 29 senior administrators from Qingdao University, in China, according to Peter Sterlacci, senior lead of international projects for IES. At the opening ceremony in the King Library, Interim President Joseph Crowley formally welcomed the group and Chief Education Consul Yang Shen of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China, in San Francisco, addressed the delegates and emphasized the importance of this partnership in promoting Sino-American cooperation. During their stay, the administrators will work with campus leaders in faculty development, student affairs, university management, planning and assessment, and globalization of higher education. linkages and agreements between SJSU and institutions overseas has been released
by International and Extended Students, adds Sterlacci. To date, SJSU has linkages
with institutions in more than 20 countries. The database includes: student
and faculty exchanges, research collaborations, joint-degree collaborations,
training contracts, and other special programs. Users can view a downloadable
copy of all signed agreements.
