Jan English-Lueck, chair of the anthropology department, has been elected president of the Southwestern Anthropological Association, the oldest regional anthropology association in the country. Debra Y. Griffith has been appointed chief judicial affairs officer at SJSU, effective July 1. Griffith previously has held the position of assistant judicial affairs officer in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and resident director in University Housing Services. Chemistry Professor Maureen Scharberg has been appointed to a three-year term as director of the College of Science Education Program. For the past year, Scharberg has served as co-director of the program along with Professor Dan Walker. E-mail Scharberg at scharbrg@pacbell.net.
