The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library will mark its fifth anniversary with an all-day celebration beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6. King Library has transformed a once quiet city corner -- on Fourth Street -- into a bustling center of activity that is both an educational and cultural hub. Visitors in numbers comparable to the population of a small town pass through its doors on a daily basis during the academic year. Its website receives, on average, more than 85,000 hits per day. San José State and the city of San José co-developed and co-manage the $177.5 million high-rise, which opened in 2003.
