Over 500 English as a Second Language instructors will gather at San José State on Saturday, November 8, for a California Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages conference. The keynote address will be delivered by San Francisco-based writer Andrew Lam, who won the 2006 PEN/Beyond Margins Award for his essay collection, Perfume Dreams: Reflections on the Vietnamese Diaspora. SJSU conference sponsors include the Office of the Provost, Office of the Dean of the College of Humanities and the Arts, Department of Linguistics and Language Development, and Studies in American Language.
