Professor Emily Wughalter of the Department of Kinesiology in the College of Applied Sciences and Arts has received the 2008/2009 San José State University Outstanding Professor Award. This award honors faculty whose academic career exemplifies excellence in teaching effectiveness.

During her 18-year tenure at San José State, Wughalter has established a remarkable record for teaching excellence and service. Wughalter has also served in leadership roles with the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, and the National Association for Girls and Women in Sports.
