Lord Julian Hunt, England's foremost climate scientist, will speak on integrating climate science and policy at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 19, in Morris Dailey Auditorium. His talk will cover three crucial aspects of dealing with future meteorological change: understanding the influence of natural resources and human actions; considering which changes can be mitigated and which must be met with human adaptation that is sustainable; and taking into account the pace of change and our capacity for international cooperation. Taken together, these variables can be assembled into a policy map. This event is free and open to the public.

This eye-opening information is one of many connections between global warming and food outlined in Cool Cuisine: Taking the Bite Out of Global Warming, a hybrid science/cookbook co-authored by Associate Professor of Meteorology Eugene Cordero. He will discuss his work at noon Tuesday, March 17, in King 225/229 as the next speaker in the University Scholar Series hosted by Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Carmen Sigler. This event is free and open to the public.
