Mark Prisk, a British Parliament member and shadow minister for business and enterprise, will visit San José State Monday, March 30, to learn about campus connections to Silicon Valley industry. Prisk represents the region near the University of Hertfordshire, which recently formed a partnership with SJSU. Both universities drive their local economies. The partnership includes collaborative research as well as student, faculty and staff exchanges.

Prisk will visit the San José Biocenter, an SJSU/city of San José incubator that provides world-class business and facility services to high-potential life science, nanotech and clean tech companies. Prisk will also visit campus, where he will meet with Kim Walesh of the San José Office of Economic Development; Belle Wei, dean of the Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering; Anu Basu, SJSU professor and director of the Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship; and Michael Parrish, dean of the College of Science.
