San José State's Magic Carpet Theatre will host a gala opening for "Beauty and the Beast" at 7 p.m. Friday, April 24, in the Hall Todd Studio Theatre. The show continues through Sunday, May 3. Tickets from the SJSU Event Center, Ticketmaster and at the door are $5 for ages 16 and under; $10 for students and seniors; and $15 general admission. The Magic Carpet Theatre is an arm of the Department of TV, Radio, Film and Theatre specializing in productions for children.
