San José State football opens its 2009 season with an ambitious schedule: University of Southern California, Utah, Stanford. In Palo Alto, kickoff will be preceded by the SJSU Alumni Association's traditional pre-game party starting at 3 p.m. Saturday, September 19, on Maloney Field.

For the first time, the party will be co-hosted by the Office of the President. All San José State community members are welcome to join President Whitmore and the Alumni Association; there is no cost to attend. Spartan Shops will serve a barbecue dinner priced at $10. Beer and wine will be available for purchase, and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided compliments of the Alumni Association.
