Taryn Hanano, an urban planning graduate student, will receive the Distinguished Leadership Award from the American Planning Association California Chapter at its annual conference the week of September 14.
Gabino Lopez, a business major, was featured in a San Jose Mercury News feature on first jobs. His family's first college graduate, he said of his parents: "They wanted me to be the forerunner in our family, to set an example. That's always in the back of my mind." Read more.
Carlos A. Moreno, a photojournalism major, has published two photos in the New York Times. The first, from January, featured SJSU students and their sneaker collection. The second, from July, featured a student working late into the night.
