Om Nalamasu, Applied Materials deputy chief technology officer and vice president of advanced technologies, is next in the fall 2009 Silicon Valley Leaders Symposium. Nalamasu will present "Nanomanufacturing Technology: Platform for 21st Century Economy" at noon Thursday, September 24, in Engineering 189. Hosted by the Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering, this event is free and open to the public. Read more on the symposium.
The Division of Student Affairs will present "Prepare for RAINN," a sexual assault prevention program this week. The effort includes an appearance by Courtney Macavinta, author of RESPECT: A Girl's Guide to Getting Respect and Dealing When Your Line Is Crossed. Eli Berman, professor of economics at the University of California, San Diego, is next in the David S. Saurman Provocative Lecture Series. He will speak on "Radical, Religious and Violent: The New Economics of Terrorism," the title of his book by the same name, at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, September 24, in Engineering 189. The Department of Economics will host the event, which is free and open to the public.
