NVIDIA Corporation selected the Five Wounds/Brookwood Terrace neighborhood east of campus for Project Inspire, its annual holiday service project. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 5, 850 NVIDIA employees will work with 150 residents to paint a school and murals, build an outdoor classroom, remodel a neighborhood center, create a computer lab, improve playgrounds and sports fields, and landscape a park. NVIDIA values the materials and labor needed at $475,000, funds saved by forgoing a company holiday party.

CommUniverCity San José and the Strong Neighborhoods Initiative's commitment to the neighborhood attracted NVIDIA, a Santa Clara-based provider of visual computing technologies. CommUniverCity is a partnership of San José State University, the Five Wounds/Brookwood Terrace neighborhoods, and the city of San José. The organization seeks to engage faculty and students in service-learning projects addressing community development priorities.
