A wide range of proposed business ventures and teams won top prizes at the sixth annual Silicon Valley Neat Ideas Fair held in early December at San José State. Best exhibit, best elevator pitch, best executive summary, and most socially innovative awards went to a diverse range of students including engineering, industrial design, biotechnology, business and journalism undergraduate and graduate students. The Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship, part of SJSU's College of Business, sponsored the event. The competition promotes creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit by encouraging students to conceptualize and present innovative business ideas. More than 40 industry experts, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, academics and corporate executives from Intel, HP, Cisco, Applied Materials and Bank of America acted as mentors and judges.
