San José State University will hold a news conference on our connection to the Pentagon shooting at 1:30 PST, Clark 300. Clark is near East San Fernando and South Seventh streets, San José. You may also participate via conference call at 408-924-7516.
Speakers will include Media Relations Director Pat Lopes Harris and Electrical Engineering Associate Professor David Parent. We ask that all questions be held until that time. This will be our only media opportunity on this topic, so please be sure to attend if you have an interest in this story.
SJSU would like to express our condolences to all affected by this tragedy. We can confirm that a student with the name John P. Bedell was recently enrolled at SJSU. He did not graduate from SJSU. He was a graduate student in electrical engineering from fall 2008 through fall 2009. He was in good standing but was not enrolled this term. He also took post-baccalaureate classes at SJSU in spring 2008, and undergraduate classes in chemical engineering in 1995 and 1996. He has no criminal record at SJSU. He was not employed by SJSU.
