SJSU Associate Professor of Chemistry David Brook mentored Justin To, an Oak Grove High School student
and contestant in ISEF.

Expect to see a whole lot of high school science talent on campus this week, as the world's largest pre-college science competition begins in downtown San Jose. SJSU is pleased to help host the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, which opened Monday, May 10, at SJSU, and will conclude with awards ceremonies 7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday, May 13 and 14, at the Event Center. SJSU also helped recruit judges.

Each awards ceremony will be preceded by a promenade of thousands of science fair participants making their way from the San Jose McEnery Convention Center along the Paseo de San Carlos to the Event Center. On Friday, many will bear flags and wear traditional clothing from their home countries.

Members of the public can view the fair free of charge from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at the convention center. Visit from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and finalists will be on hand, eager to share their discoveries with you.
