How's the lighting in King Library? Better, greener and cheaper than ever before! SJSU has received a California Higher Education Energy Efficiency Partnership Program Best Practice award for an extensive effort to retrofit library lighting, improving visual acuity while reducing power, cooling and maintenance costs.

Assistant Professor Matthew Spangler's stage adaptation of bestselling novel "The Kite Runner" continues to impress. He received the Best Original Script award from the Bay Area Theatre Critics' Circle for the show's run at the San Jose Repertory Theatre. The play also received standing ovations in Tucson and Phoenix.
