Bio
Dr. Faranak Memarzadeh is an Associate Professor and Interim MBA Director at the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business. Her areas of expertise include Sustainable Hospitality, Green Technology, and Innovation in Service Industry.
Her passion for sustainability is reflected in her teaching, research, and service. Dr. Memarzadeh developed a new course in “Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Operations”, which she offers for the first time in fall 2022. She published research papers in Sustainable Hospitality and has been actively conducting more research on this topic. She is the editor, guest editor, and reviewer for several journals such as Sustainability Journal, Journal of Tourism and Hospitality, and Journal of Global Business Insights.
Dr. Memarzadeh serves on San Jose State University Sustainability Board, International Programs and Students Committee, Accreditation Review Committee, and Faculty Learning Communities committees. She is Vice-Chair of the SIG Sustainability and Innovations Committee and also a member of the Travel and Tourism Research Association’s International Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
