Bio

Dr. Rosemary Henze is an educational anthropologist whose teaching, research, and educational projects seek to enhance social justice and equity in education. She applies concepts and methods from anthropology and linguistics to the study of race relations, immigration and multilingualism, Islamophobia, the spread of English, among other topics. Her most recent recent publication is How real is race? Unraveling race, biology, and culture, 3rd Edition (with Mukhopadhyay and Moses), Rowman and Littlefield/Bloomsbury, 2025. ;  Between 2012-2014, she served as President of the Council on Anthropology and Education.  Her additional languages include Greek, French, and some Spanish.
