Ask A Question, Save A Life

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the 3 simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help. Each year thousands of Americans, like you, are saying "Yes" to saving the life of a friend, colleague, sibling, or neighbor.

QPR is not intended to be a form of counseling or treatment.

As a QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper, you will learn to:
  1. Recognize the warning signs of suicide
  2. Know how to offer hope through positive action
  3. Know how to get help and save a life

QPR training sessions for faculty and staff (sign up will be on CSU Learn) co-led by Drs. Kathy Lee and Nadeem Hasan at the Student Wellness Center(SWC) 122:

Book Review.png

"The Energy Bus" by Jon Gordon is a motivational book that uses a fictional narrative to deliver messages about positivity, leadership, and the impact of attitude on personal and professional success.

The protagonist, George, is facing various challenges in both his personal and professional life. After several obstacles in his life, George finds himself without a car and has to take the bus to work where he builds a connection with the bus driver who teaches him about the power of positive energy.

Two takeaways from the book is the importance of maintaining a positive attitude and the concept of "Energy Vampires," who drain energy from those around them. The author emphasizes that individuals have control over their thoughts and energy, while also encouraging individuals to eliminate negative influences from their lives in order to overcome obstacles and reach their goals.

"The Energy Bus" is a must read that offers insights into the transformative power of positive energy in your life.
