Writing Workshops
ISSS is pleased to partner with the SJSU Writing Center on a series of workshops designed with international students in mind, but open to all SJSU students.
All workshops are facilitated by the passionate and experienced Amy Russo, Coordinator of Multilingual Writing Support Services. Having lived abroad in Japan for several years, Amy has a strong understanding of what it's like to live and learn in another culture.

Post-Completion OPT Workshops
This general Post-Completion OPT workshop will provide an overview on how to apply for Post-OPT. We will review eligibility, steps to apply, reporting requirements, and many more topics pertaining to Post-OPT. You are not required to have a job to apply for OPT, so if you will be graduating at the end of the current term and want to work after completing your degree, then we recommend you attend this workshop.

Post-Completion OPT Application Packet (I-765) Prep Workshops
We will host a general packet prep session for the required application materials that students need to submit to USCIS. While we cannot and are not permitted to review each student's OPT application individually, we will be able to address specific questions about the I-765 (OPT) application and the application process, for filing your OPT application online with USCIS.
This workshop is ONLY for students who have already requested their I-20s with the post-completion OPT recommendation.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP IF YOU ARE NOT READY TO SUBMIT YOUR OPT APPLICATION (I-765) TO USCIS!

STEM OPT Extension Workshops
Please join us for this virtual workshop on STEM OPT Extension. This workshop is intended for students currently on post-completion OPT, who want to learn more about STEM OPT. We will provide a very thorough overview of the STEM OPT Extension application process, eligibility requirements, reporting responsibilities, STEM OPT FAQs, etc.
