Disqualification and Reinstatement

Disqualification

Students on academic probation are subject to Academic Disqualification from SJSU if their subsequent Fall or Spring term GPA is below a 2.0. Administrative-Academic Disqualification can occur if a student is not making satisfactory progress towards degree completion regardless of their GPA. Our advisors can help students understand why they were disqualified and help them work their way back to the university through reinstatement.

Reinstatement

Reinstatement is a different process from readmission. Unless reinstatement has been approved, readmission is not possible. In most situations, a student must apply for readmission prior to being reinstated due to university application deadlines in Cal State Apply. Reinstatement can be complicated, so we encourage you to make an appointment with one of our advisors to talk through the process.
