Post Election

SJSU is making plans to both support, and provide space for students to express themselves in the period after the U.S. election on November 5th. Below are some resources and highlights for SJSU students during that time.

Student Support

Discover information and resources that can help you take care of your mental health and well-being during this election season.

Connect with peers and express yourself

Heal through talking one on one to receive personalized care

  • Need to check-in with a counselor? Same day services are available during regular open hours.

For more information on how to care for your mental health, please visit Mindful Steps on Well-being @ SJSU.

Additional options to consider

In addition, spaces are being made available in the Housing area.  Watch for information and resources if you live in on-campus housing.

You can also come connect in the Political Science office in Clark 471 on 11/6 and 11/7 from 1-5 pm with board games!

Expression

Location:  Smith/Carlos Lawn
Dates/Times: 11/5 - 11/7 11am-7pm, 11/8 11am-4pm (times and dates subject to change)

Join fellow students in an environment to share your thoughts and opinions on the election in a public forum.  Sign up on-site to speak into a microphone and project your thoughts to others in attendance at the location.

Or if you prefer, join a sit-down table there and be a part of a small dialogue about the election and its results.

The space will be governed by Time, Place, and Manner and we ask for courtesy and respect for fellow students, but the content and thoughts are yours to share.
