Jenny Leaves for New Zealand

Tonight, I’m off to the biggest adventure I’ve ever had – Seagate’s ECO Challenge. My company has allowed me to take part in a great experience – 4 days of high-powered training followed by a day-long team adventure race. I, and my four teammates; Joel Drewes, Torsten Voll, Tommy Cheung and Shariff Sarman will hike, run, bike and row through the mountains of New Zealand, near Queenstown. I have been training for 3 months to get ready and tonight I am on a 13-hour flight over the Pacific ocean with several other Seagate employees. There will be over 200 of us in all from all over the world. We’re divided into 5-person teams to take on this challenge all to learn about teamwork and leadership. It is definitely going to be the most physically challenging thing I have ever done but that’s just the beginning. I will learn how to work with people I’ve only emailed, learn how to lead and take leadership and most of all, learn how to succeed because we work as a team. I am STOKED! I feel ready though I’m sure I don’t fully know what I’m getting into.
