Bio
Dra. Christine Vega is a first-generation Chicana from Pacoima, California. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Graduate School of Education and Information Studies, Race & Ethnicity. She is a #transferproud student from Los Angeles Mission College, with a B.A.s in Chicana/o & Women Gender Studies from UCLA and an M.Ed. from the University of Utah. She co-found Mothers of Color in Academia (MOCA) de UCLA and the Chicana M(other)work Collective. Dra. Vega is an Assistant Professor of Chicana/e/o Studies at San José State University. Her research and community work center on Motherscholars, parents, Activisms, Spirituality, Transformational Counterspace(s), and grief positivity.
