NavigateIO
is a hardware and software solution for real-time, visual, and infrastructure-free location intelligence that cuts the emergency mission time by 35% to 65%, helping to save lives and properties. They sought help from the Silicon Valley SBDC to find a realistic, challenging public building setting in which to test their solution for a NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) sponsored first responder tracking challenge.

The SBDC connected the company with the Dean and Associate Dean of Innovation and Resource Management at San José State University’s King Library, who made the facility available for the test.

NavigateIO was able to demonstrate that their solution works in the intricate setting of the library's 8-story structure with multiple obstructions. The company was one of ten Phase Three award-winning teams for the FRST Challenge and also won one of the top two “Judges’ Special Recognition Awards”. NavitgateIO is moving on to Phase 4 of the competition.
