About

The San José K-16 Collaborative (SJK16C) is a subregional hub of the Bay Area K16 Collaborative, and initiative funded in part by the California K16 Collaboratives Grant Program. The Bay Area K-16 Collaborative is an equity-centered regional network to collectively impact K-16 achievement across three education and career pathways leading to high-demand, high-skill careers.

Vision and Goals for the San José Subregion

We envision that San José’s diverse learners will have the educational experiences, career preparation, and support needed to contribute to, benefit from, lead, and thrive in our vibrant communities and globally competitive industries. Our regional partners are committed to building high-quality and high-demand education-to-career pathways that dismantle systemic barriers and increase access in three discipline pathways - Education, Health and Technology.

Education - Early Childhood Education and K12 Teaching
- The San José subregion will establish a clear, effective pathway for K-16 students interested in pursuing careers in education fields: early childhood and PK-12 teaching, school counseling, school and district administration, social work, nonprofit leadership, and community organizing.

Health - Public Health, Mental Health, and Wellness
- The San José subregion will establish a pathway for K-16 students interested inpursuing careers in healthcare related fields. These careers include but are not limited to: nursing, mental health counseling and social work, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language therapy, and nutrition science.

Technology - Engineering and Computing
- The San José subregion will establish a pathway for K-16 students interested in pursuing careers in computer science and engineering related fields. Degree options in this pathway include but are not limited to: data science, computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, and data analytics.
